I truly think the hardest part about starting a blog is finding a good domain name that fits your brand. When I started blogging a little over a year ago, I really didn’t know what I wanted to do, let alone what my brand was. I just knew I wanted a space to share my life experiences and projects.
Although blogging is still a fun hobby for me and just a space to document these experiences, I’ve recently found myself looking for a name that I could permanently brand my blog with. After months of brainstorming, I’m so happy to share that mlavioletteblog is now These Northern Roots!
I was so nervous to make a permanent change, but after showing my logo ideas to Melissa Dameron at Lavender and Pine, she took my concept to life and made it more beautiful than I ever imagined. Check her out! (especially if you’re looking for authentic hand-drawn wedding invites!)
I’m so grateful for the support I’ve received from family and friends when starting my blog – as well as any person that’s visited to read my posts. I’m so excited to keep sharing my experiences, projects and life updates with you all, on this space I now call These Northern Roots.

I love the name! I did mine in a super spur of the moment decision, and I’ve been seriously contemplating a change lately. Can’t wait to see where your blog goes, I always love finding more Michiganders to follow 🙂
