This simple almond buttercream frosting takes roughly 5 minutes to make!
As I share this recipe with you today, try to not be distracted by the crumbly cake I made.. Haha! Let’s just say I’m still learning the ropes in the kitchen, along with baking a layer cake without it crumbling apart everywhere.
But I suppose there’s no such thing as baking without some trial and error!
Even though I failed in the baking department, I’m still excited to share the one recipe I ended up perfecting! This almond buttercream frosting turned out to be SO GOOD. It has a creamy, yet light and fluffy texture that works perfect for frosting anything, really. This batch is perfect for a smaller 2 layer cake or roughly 24 cupcakes. I used an 8″ round pan and had frosting to spare.
Four Simple Ingredients:
*There is a printable version at the end of this post*
3 cups powdered sugar
2 sticks of softened butter (I used salted)
1/2 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
1 teaspoon almond extract
Easy Peasy Instructions:
First, pour in your 3 cups of powdered sugar and softened butter in a mixing bowl, and beat together on medium speed until they are fully incorporated. Once they are mixed well, bring the mixer down to a lower speed and add in the almond extract and unsweetened vanilla almond milk. Pour the milk in slowly.
If you’re wondering why I chose unsweetened over sweetened, there’s no reason for this – sweetened will work too! I just prefer unsweetened as that’s what I’ve always used.
And that’s it! Your frosting is finished. I hope you enjoy this frosting recipe as much as my family and I do!
